Alternative jazzy and classic. This is how the probably largest festival of Polish culture describes itself. The PolenmARkT has been held in Greifswald for over 20 years. And every time the event presents itself with a culturally diverse program. It welcomes its visitors with a “Witamy serdecznie!” and offers ten days of entertainment, information and fun for all age groups. The association attaches particular importance to offering something for every taste. Whether exhibition, theatre, reading or party, whether a club evening or a small concert - the program leaves nothing to be desired. In the meantime, the festival can boast a large fan base, which travels to the university and Hanseatic city every year in November for the PolenmARkT.
If you look back in the history of the club, you can see an unparalleled success story. In 1997 the organization of a Polish cultural evening began. This took place in the basement of Slavic Studies, the Tschaika. As early as 1998, this evening was expanded into a Polish culture week due to the great popularity. Since 1999, the festival has borne the name of PolenmARkT, which is still used today. Supported by numerous companies and institutions of regional, national and international importance, the festival aims to open the borders between Poland and its neighboring countries. Packaged in a cultural framework, Poland's role as a country with moving borders is described.
In 2011, the jury of the "Pomerania Nostra" award honored the PolenARkT with an award for the commitment of the voluntary members of the association to conveying Polish culture. In 2017, the cultural festival celebrated its 20th anniversary.
