Greifswald can be experienced in many different ways. The brick buildings in the historic old town also bear witness to the maritime heritage of the old Hanseatic city. Greifswald is one of the most important cities along the European Route of Brick Gothic. Visitors interested in the city's most famous son can follow the Caspar-David-Friedrich-Bildweg or take a guided tour about the life and work of the painter.
