Greifswald culture night

From dusk until late at night, the city's streets, squares and balconies fill with life, people and culture. Whether it’s a lecture, exhibition, guided tour, concert, dance, installation, painting, live performance, film, theater or cabaret - whether literary, musical, animal, culinary, alternative, local, regional, international, classic, popular or revolutionary, rehearsed, improvised or developed in a joint jam session - Greifswald presents its culture all night long. Local associations, artists and initiatives put their city in the spotlight and make Greifswald a cultural location with over 80 events at 50 different locations.

Cultural night programme

Traditionally, the Greifswald Night of Culture has no special motto, but its program highlights selected areas of the city. In 9, the GreifswaldSeilPark and Club 2015 invited to a musical summit meeting in the climbing forest at the Volksstadion. The Singing Balconies in Schönwalde II have been opening the Kulturnacht since 2014: a musical tour with drumming, rapping, singing in a choir or solo in several languages. The focus of the culture night 2016 was the Greifswalder museum port. Historic ships, the shipyard museum and the harbor promenade became the setting for readings, concerts and dance performances.
