Nordic sound

Scandinavian music, art and lifestyle in Greifswald

Every year at the beginning of May, Greifswald moves a little closer to the north. For ten days, the Nordischer Klang Festival then attracts visitors with a colorful and exclusive cultural programme. Numerous contributions from Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden celebrate Scandinavian art and lifestyle. The focus is on music with all its genres, but exhibitions, author readings, lectures, theatre, films and a children's program also bring fresh north wind breezes to the former Swedish Western Pomerania.

Program Nordic Sound

At many of the pop, jazz, classical, folk, song and world music concerts, artists from Northern Europe will be performing in Germany for the first time. Originality, virtuosity, imagination, live presence, entertainment appeal and daring are the selection criteria and the guarantee for entertaining, communicative cultural experiences. Many of the artists are big names in their respective home countries or even internationally celebrated stars, but talented newcomers with sparkling ideas also fascinate their audience. The Nordic sound also reflects the excellent Scandinavian broad culture, because choirs, brass bands and dance groups like to come. Many cultural institutions in the Hanseatic city enrich the program with their own exhibitions and events on the subject of Northern Europe, so that there are also exciting activities to do during the day. And when local restaurants offer Scandinavian specialities, it even sounds Nordic in your stomach.
