Greifswald Kite Festival

Fly a kite with a view of the city

Huge butterflies, flying penguins and colorful paragliders - on November 03th the sky over the city will be colourful. Then the "Greifswald Kite Festival" will take place for the second time.
From 10 a.m. to 16 p.m., visitors of all ages can fly their kites through the air on the landfill hill on Ladebower Chaussee.

A professional pilot will also be on site and will skillfully fly a huge show kite across the event grounds. There will also be a bouncy castle and a make-up station for the little guests, as well as a selection of food and drinks to keep them going. Anyone who doesn't have their own kite can spin the wheel of fortune and win a cloud-stormer on site, or simply paint one at our craft station. A new highlight awaits all puzzle fans, young and old, this year. A scavenger hunt will take place across the grounds, where you can win a great prize.

From 09:30 a.m. until the end of the event, a free bus shuttle from the Greifswald public utilities will take visitors from the central bus station to the Deponieberg and back. There will also be enough bicycle racks installed on the event site. Those who would still prefer to travel by car are directed to the car park at the Museumshafen/Salinenstraße or to the Hanse Yachts AG car park.

We would like to thank our partners for their support: WVG, ml&s, HAB, Volksbank Vorpommern eG, HanseYachts AG, Stadtwerke Greifswald, MVL, Peter-Warschow Sammelstiftung, WGG and the Hanseatic City of Greifswald.
