The Pomeranian State Museum is one of the most important cultural institutions for Pomeranian history, art and culture. Behind the classical exterior facade of the main building, the scenic, historical and cultural development of the Western Pomeranian region is presented in multimedia form on an exhibition area of 1000 m². One of the highlights of the exhibition is the magnificent Croy carpet from 1554, a unique cultural and historical testimony from the time of the Reformation.
Behind the main building is the former monastery library, through which you can get to the monastery garden - an oasis in the middle of the city that invites you to linger. A glass museum street connects the main building with the one built by JG Quistorp Picture gallery, which is currently being converted into the Gallery of Romanticism. Three special exhibitions on Caspar David Friedrich will be shown in the neighboring convent building in 2024.
The Pomeranian State Museum is part of the CASPAR-DAVID-FRIEDRICH CITY TOURthat is offered.
